Nabakalebara-Eid-Rathajatra: A divine intervention

June 18, 2015, 'Nabakalebara-Rathajatra-Eid' on one day: Is it just a coincidence, or a wake up call for the ignorant we. You decide, who am I ?

We, the arrogant so called knowledgeable people debarred 'Salabega'' in the past to meet Jagannath, he came out and and made everything stand still for the devotee without cast/race. The outcome - "We learnt Nothing"

Its still the same and we still restrict the almighty and argue to put him in the Hindu clad and insult his very name 'Jagata ra Natha (God of the World) - Jagannath'. We are testing his patience or the almighty has still faith on his beautiful (?) creation - only he knows, who am I ?

Nabakalebara - The almighty is willingly waking us up to see the reality, the truth, - nothing is constant. Everything has an end, but the Brahma (divine soul). Soul, that neither starts nor ends, neither a Hindu nor a Muslim or anything...what we are learning?- You better know, who am I ?

Eid: An occasions for showing gratitude to God and remembering Him after month long daytime fast. What we are doing, you better know, who am I?

Rathajatra - The very meaning (as I think) is the irresistible force of the almighty that crushes all ignorance on the way to make us reach the final destination. What we are doing, you better know, who am I?

Still, he has not lost his faith on us, and meticulously arranged the planetary motion to make us realize God is one. Nabakalebara-Eid-Rathajatra are the same with varied interpretation and its time to know the truth and embrace all. Is it a deliberate attempt to send us one more symbol, he only knows, who am I?

Dear almighty Jagannath, Wish you a very Happy Eid.

Note: Nabakalebara is a Hindu ritual performed at Jagannath temple, Odisha, India that symbolizes life is a circle of event, death is inevitable if there is life and vice-versa.

I pray God to repeat it again

Morning
The alarm disturbs
I wake up
She pushes me for taking bath
Forces me for breakfast, chawanprash, milk and a long menu
Clock approaches 9
She gives me wallet, watch, spectacles, sprout box and bike key
Wishes me all the best for office
Waves a lovely good bye
Reminds me for helmet
Looks at my exit from the balcony.
Afternoon
Opens the door before I ring the bell
Makes me wash my hands
Serves lunch
I sense her happiness in her to-n-fro from kitchen
I sense her happiness in her drops of sweat on forehead
Makes me eat some extra
Eats at the same plate…idiot
Evening
Serves me glucose
Makes me pray and bow at Gods
Googles for snacks dish and put her heart on cooking
Asks me in child like innocence, "Is it ok at least"?
I fake anger
She accepts, and I sense her love in it
Night
Scolds my serials for spoiling my studies
Bakes roti (bread)
Makes me eat early
Forces me to drink the ill smelling milk…yuk
Orders me-don’t stick to the computer
Cleans the kitchen
Makes sure the home is locked
Loves me
and I thank God for the wonderful today, and pray to repeat it again
She is, who she is – the better half

Yashodhara

Yashodhara

Do you know that name?
Prince Siddhartha, Gautama, Sakyamuni, Buddha.
Everybody knows these names...
but...
Yashodhara?

Yashodhara was married to Siddhartha.
She loved him dearly.
One night Siddhartha left her and their son, Rahul ...
while they were sleeping, to seek Enlightenment...
... to become Buddha.

He did not even say a word to her when he left.

Yashodhara has shown compassion for the sick
... and ailing long before Siddhartha ever did!
... long before Siddhartha was even aware of suffering!
Who can say if he owed his Enlightenment to her?
Perhaps Yashodhara wanted to leave Siddhartha and Rahul.
How can we ever know if Yashodhara fell victim to anger ...
... to loneliness or bitterness
... after Siddhartha left her.
Who even thought about her?

What must she have said when Rahul, her son...
...asked that eternal question
Where is my father?
What must she have told him?

How could a mother leave her own child in the middle of the night?
lt is only possible for a man to do.
After that, Yashodhara had no choice.
She had to lead a life of renunciation.
She cut off her hair,
and lived like an ascetic.

lf your thoughts toward Dharma were of the same intensity ...
... as the love and passion you have shown to your teenaged lover or the newly married wife...
... you would have become a Buddha ...
... in this very body

... in this very life.

It's all over

She came like a breeze
And I was taken

I heard her voice
That still jingles in my heart

She told, sing me with me
And the melody was spectacular

She wrote on me
The novel was bestseller

She smiled at me
Life was beautiful

She was in tears
It was raining heavily

She parted away
There was an eclipse

She told burn all my memories
I hardly know what’s left

She told forget me
I don’t know what I remember anymore

...but I know, it’s all over :(

My name in yours

I
Love to smile when you are there in my thoughts
Love to dream when its about you
Love the time which revolves around you
Love all those places where we spent time together
Love to be in you

And...

She is

She

The Strength of my life
Whom I adore
Keys to all my happiness
Fills me with her tender touch
An Inevitable part

Simple but honest
The rare one with enormous excellence
Decent, but always inane
Brighten me with her smile, youthfulness filled with affection
Obscure to many just like the twilight
Incomparable

And with her,
Smile touches my lips...
Dreams come to my eyes...
Happiness besieges and sweet flings encircle me..........

Where do you want to land ???

Love can be inconvenient,
perhaps inappropriate.
It can be dangerous.
Make us do things,
we wouldn't dream of doing.

But wrong?

That just depends on
Where we end up, doesn't it?

Dussehra: Are you happy Maa ?

Vijayadashami or Dussehra-the day to celebrate the victory of God Ram over the ten-headed Ravana, of Maa Durga over Mahishasura and other demons like Chanda-Munda and Shumbha- Nishumbha; that is victory of good over evil. We, the religious ones do ‘Havans’ and a lot of ‘Daan-Dakshina’, and some of us even invite little girls (Kanya) to our homes and wash their feet and arrange a grand feast for them. The girls are given return gifts and are guided safely to their homes. We go to visit Durga Pooja Pandals with family, bow to the mother goddess and pay reverence. We ask for health, wealth, success and luck for the coming year, eat ‘Prasad’ and go back looking at other beautiful ones on the way home.

We ritually believe that there is no greater power than that of a Woman, the mother goddess, and at the same time we do not forget to turn our heads to take a glimpse of the women standing aside. We close our eyes to sink in the divinity of the deity, and open with pleasure at inhaling the ladies deo; we mesmerize at the beauty of Maa Durga, and the same ‘we’ finds excuses to see the curves of a woman next to us praying with closed eyes. We praise the Goddess for saving the world from devils like Mahisasura and Ravan, and happily nurture the demons inside. Maa, are you really happy at you sons? Or you are eagerly waiting for the Bisarjan to hide your helplessness? I think that’s why the cyclone Phailin came on the Astami Day to make the dry lands full of water so that you will find a nearby place to be dumped at.

We don’t get tired while praising the power of mother goddess, and then we spend the rest of the year expecting that a beautiful baby boy will come out of our pregnant wives ‘this-time’. A part of us, the flag bearers of ‘Khaap Mentality’ looks out for ways to justify female feticide, rapes and molestations in the name of tight fit jeans, skirts, movies, chowmin, mobiles and what not except the ‘male-urge’ to dominate. Some of us will even challenge the right to education for a girl child. We burn the spare candles from kitchen supporting cases like ‘Nirbhays’, but keep a mum on the question about acceptance of a rape survivor in the society.

Dussera night, and we will feel proud after burning the effigy of Ravan cursing his evil spirit, and evidently flaunting our presence at the occasion with newly owned cars or bikes, jewellery and neatly pressed perfumed suits. And then the next Navratri and Dussehra will come and, we the same people will flock in Pandals again asking for health, wealth, success and luck for the coming year. Maa, are you really happy at us?

Maa, it’s your country, India, where ‘women’ are worshiped as ‘deities’, and at the same time the hunger for a boy over a girl leads to countless coldblooded murders. In a country where a woman represents the goddess of wisdom as Saraswati, literacy rate of women is nothing to be proud of. In a country where a ‘woman’ is the goddess of wealth (Lakshmi), of power (Durga), of satisfaction (Annapurna) and of Spirituality (Gayatri), the very women are getting raped in different parts of the country is not infrequent news. Are you happy at us?
We can blame administration, police, politicians, system and on and on…but ultimately it is all about the mind-set that cooling its heel inside our frontal lobe. Killers of the female infants are from amongst us. Rapists are from amongst us. Those who don’t believe in the education of the girl child are from amongst us. They are not criminals; they are the product of society’s collective apathy in stopping them.

What will we do? Simply wait and watch? Show sympathy? Shout for the right of the women at the dining table gossip? March rallies to bunk the office than to support the cause? It’s true, the women are shy and physically weak, but they are never ever without power. They are like the mother Goddess who has not lost hope even on demons like Mahisasura and had allowed to rule the paradise for sometime anticipating a change. We are at the same position, and are happily exhausting our lifelines either by committing or supporting or by not protesting the crimes against women. I am sure the time is not far for the women to rise, find and punish the demons within us.

It’s never the late for walking on the path of change and hope. This Dussehra let’s get rid of male chauvinism, ego and fake pride. Let’s hope for victory, not over others, but over the ones comfortably playing inside us like Lust (Kama vasana), Anger (Krodha), Attachment (Moha), Greed (Lobha), Over Pride (Mada), Jealousy (Matsara), Selfishness (Swartha), Injustice (Anyaaya), Amanavta (Cruelty) and Ahankara (Ego). I hope, Maa Durga surely hope us to get Vijaya (victory) over the Ravan inside us. Let us make our dear mother Goddess a bit happy.
Happy Dussehra!!!

Dear Nirbhaya, you were just a toy with blood and flesh

[“In its first verdict in the Nirbhaya case, a Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Saturday (31st August,
2013) held that the minor accused was 'involved' in the gang rape and murder of the paramedical 23-year-old student and sent him to three years in a 'place of safety' at a reformatory home.” The following lines are just to fill the page.]

2013, the last day of the month of August, the same month when mother India got rid of shackles from mighty British rule, and the same month that led her to rethink about her own safety from the emerging juvenile sex players. Dear August, you have the guts to bear the judgement at your last day. I am sure, you must be rushing…but surely failed to judge the speed of our Judiciary System.

Oh yes, he was just a juvenile while he committed the bad act (no…no…It’s not a crime). How can a juvenile do a crime like rape? You insane idiot women of India, go and find the definition, a juvenile is an individual organism that has not yet reached its adult form, sexual maturity or size. He had not reached adulthood, that’s why all other adults gave him the first chance to play; he was sexually immature, that’s why he had opted for unnatural way; and to compensate the size, he simply had used the iron rod. See our justice system is simply going by the definition, word by word. That’s it…. don’t do a drama, you helpless women.

Below the age of 18, rape is not the act of forceful sex; it’s just a way of discovering the latent manhood within. It’s just a play where the plastic doll is simply replaced with the one with flesh and blood. He was just playing….a bit hard on the toy called an adult woman. Have you seen any kid playing with a toy? What does he do when the doll failed to amuse the kid? The kid either throws it away or goes for a better one. In this case, the kid was a little (actually very little) violent, he tore the doll apart, gave it to others to play, inserted an iron rod to make it work. And I am sure, with the experience in hand; he will find a better one in future. The rest of the so called dolls of India, get ready to be played… As I wrote earlier, the juvenile accused was simply discovering the manhood within, with the help of few adults as examiners, while playing the new sex game with the poor girl. What is his fault by the way? That’s it. You sadist citizens, instead of being happy on a child’s play, you are creating ruckus, you all must face the charge of strict Indian Penal Code (IPC).

My dear JJB (Juvenile Justice Board) and fellow citizens, please provide him a better looking toy in the correction home. And my dear women citizens of Republic of India get mentally prepared for this…as you are simply a toy in the eyes of our legal system. Think twice before planting a kiss on the forehead of a kid, seal your lips before smiling at a minor…..or you may curse yourself as usual for being born here which no one listens but you. Don’t even dare to think of suicide, it’s a crime under IPC.

I am happy that Nirbhaya is long dead before witnessing the verdict. What would we say to her? Dear Nirbhay, we have sentenced the juvenile the maximum punishment of three years for mishandling the doll and playing unfair with you. Be happy and feel proud that it’s you for whom the maximum sentence is penned. I know, she must be crying out there looking at our indifference and laziness; the indifference towards the cruelty and the laziness to shout at the verdict on a Sunday. Don’t worry; we will do the protest on a working day just to get rid of our daily routine. It’s a healthy time pass to shout slogans on law against sexual violence, a hot coffee table gossip, a relieving status update on face book, a perfect dinner time news watch…and a selfish kiss on the women we love by saying, be safe. Sorry Nirbhaya, we are a spineless generation unlike you think of us. Please don’t dream to take rebirth here. If you still think so, we are not responsible for your consequence.

As the anger is typed, let’s think why the laws are made? What should we follow, the intent of the Law or the letter of the law? I hope the judiciary system is established to implement the intent of the law, taking the rule book as a guideline and not simply adhering to the black and white letter of the law.  Whenever a society follows the letter of the law blindly bypassing the principal intent or motive behind, it turns bureaucratic, and goes to the dogs. We, in India follow the letter of the law, what is written, keeping a blind eye on the motive. I think there lies the root of the problem. That’s why after 66 years of independence, we have led the extra food grains to rot in the warehouse while thousands die in hunger. It’s the time to introspect. To think about our fundamentals, to ponder on the question, ‘what’s gone wrong?’ I hope nobody is listening.

Ramji, I cant wish you a Happy Birthday

Dear Ramji,

Today is Ram Navami, your birthday, right!!! Please tell me in private, are you really happy to celebrate your birthday among the ones who are literally and with proven action, million times advanced than the poor Raavan ??? I hope not, but if you still have faith on us and hope that your character can inspire and transform us, I appreciate your sense of humour.

The poor Raavan simply kidnapped your wife, please rewind the events to remember, he did not misbehaved; but we as your favourite follower, love to show our male potency on a kid of 3 years to an old woman of 97 years. And if we are not happy after the act, we love to force some iron rod, or glass bottle or something creative to leave you spell bound.

Ramji, I am sure after watching our creative barbarism you must have regretted your act of killing the nobel Raavan. If, you being a God had killed and ruined the golden Lanka for a simple act of kidnap, what kind of punishment you are cooking in your mind??? Please reveal that on your birthday.

I know, you must be feeling helplessness after seeing the police and other security arrangement in anticipation of a communal riot on your birthday. I was in a belief that your birthday inspires the poor human being to understand the meaning of righteousness and brotherhood...but I am not sure how can we learn to be brothers with shiny knife and bullets in hand. If I remember correctly, you had met the demon king Raavan during inauguration of the India-Lanka bridge without any weapon but a garland. Is it so that he was your enemy and a demon thats why he came without a weapon too, and we as your favourite follower have the liberty to stab each other on your name??? Just a request, please reconsider your view on Raavan, or bear us as we are.

As a God, I am sure you must have tried hard to delete your birth date from calendar... but I warn you, you will fail as we can not afford to lose a holiday to eat and drink on your holy name. I feel pity, as you have no one to pray at to help you...being God has its own price.

Anyways, if you are happy to celebrate your birthday...who am I to object??? With a heavy heart, Happy birthday dear Ramji. May you forgive me for not able to celebrate your birthday. Sorry.

Mobile: A very Happy Birthday

Dear Mobile,

A very Happy 40th Birthday. With a growing age, you are becoming younger and sexier.

You came as a bulky black gizmo as a kid, started to read as sms, drew black-n-white painting and added colors over time, gave us 12-50 keys to type and added a screen to feel ur beauty. You grew from mere calling to a horizon of internet...from java to iOS...You made us believe what is it be connected. You are literally unbelievably growing young and young...

I am sure Motorola had never imagined, your impact on our life, in its wildest dream when it made the first call on 3rd April 1973. Thank you for making our lives easier. I cant imagine how the world ll be if you retire.

Happy Birthday ;)

Women's Day: idiot Goddess !!!

Wow, it’s your day women...I know you are smiling at the foolish attempt by the world to grant a special day to appreciate your contribution. You know that there won’t be a day to cherish without your help; still you allow the world to pat its own back labeling itself as a caretaker of the women. I know you won’t advertise your superiority; you won’t let the world go to hell despite being molested psychologically, mentally or the worst physically. You are literally an idiot, who only knows how to give and give more forgetting the other part of the balance, to take.
You can do almost everything you dream to, still you nourish others’ to fulfill. You wear high heels, yet don’t loose ground. You are tough as mother earth, yet mellow to see the world smile. You can face all adversity and still walk tall. You are strong, beautiful, and compassionate and much more than the world has ever seen. You can swim across the Mariana trench, climb the Everest as easily as the kitchen steps, still you chose to give us a chance to boast our ego. What material you are made of!!!

You constitute half the population, work for two third of all working hours, paid one tenth, but still happy to serve. Are you completely out of your mind!!! You have got everything to take the world to your side; still you make us feel superior. You have surely mastered in the art of winning through defeat. You are idiotically unbelievable!!!
You can easily surpass, lead and master as a professional. Still you choose to leave all for being a housewife, wash the utensils and choose to be in pain for being a mother. You cook heart, serve love, and become the happiest to see us licking the fingers forgetting to keep a little for you. You allow us to label you as an idiot, still never ask us to think for a while that if being a mother is idiotic, the God almighty would get the 1st prize for that. You are insanely generous!!!
The world is feeling proud with its progress in science and technology. It made a step closer to find how a life is created out of nothing with the discovery of the God particle; a long journey of thousands of years to come a bit nearer to unravel the origin of life. On the other side, you create a life in the labor room and shed a smile to our ignorance. You are idiotically genius!!!

God is always on ears to grant you whatever you wish, yet you always pray for a husband  who treats you as his property, for a son/daughter who takes you for granted, a family that treats you as a burden to shed off...How can you really do all this!!! For me, you are idiotically mysterious, as sweet inside as out, but not made of candy.

You were there as a mother when we born, pampered and cared for us as a sister, always there for help in school as a teacher, played to let us win as a friend, offered a shoulder to cry as a beloved, walked with compassion as a life partner, melt us off as a daughter, and hope you will absorb without fail as a motherland when we die. You are what you are...idiot, Goddess!!!

But it's over now

Lay a whisper
On my pillow
Leave the winter
On the ground
I wake up lonely
The stare of silence
In the bedroom
And all around
Touch me now
I close my eyes
And dream away
It must have been love
But it's over now
It must have been good
But I lost it somehow
It must have been love
But it's over now
From the moment we touched
Till the time had run out

… a romantic song from the movie ‘Pretty Woman”
